Since the firm's inception, it has conducted over 100,000 senior-level searches.[3] In the 2008 fiscal year the company produced a global revenue of $790.6 million and had 2,584 employees.[4]
The firm was founded in 1969 by Lester Korn and Richard Ferry.[5] Gary Burnison, a former partner of KPMG, serves as the current CEO. The company claims expertise across a range of fields, including the consumer, financial, industrial and technological areas, as well as healthcare services and life sciences. They offer recruitment services for executives as well as leadership and talent consultancy.
Futurestep was founded in 1998 as Korn/Ferry’s scalable, outsourced recruitment subsidiary offering recruitment and consultancy aimed at mid-level management levels. In June 2009, Korn/Ferry acquired the London-based executive search firm Whitehead Mann, a leading international talent management firm known for its CEO and board relationships and strong roster of clients throughout Europe. In January 2010, Korn/Ferry acquired McLean, Va.-based SENSA Solutions, a leading management consulting firm selling "leadership and organizational development solutions" utilized by U.S. federal agencies.[6]
